The Nolichucky River is a major stream draining the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.

The Nolichucky River winds through the mountains of North Carolina just north of Asheville, NC heading west towards the town of Erwin, TN.  The name Nolichucky "Rushing Waters" was given by the Cherokee Indians based upon the conditions on this rugged section of the river.
