Overmountain Sams

On July 4th, 2008 Lena participated in the Lee County Park-to-Park Bike Ride. The event began at Leeman Field in Pennington Gap, VA and ended at Cumberland Bowl Park in Jonesville, VA. This is a distance of about 10 miles through the hills of Lee County, VA.

The event was held with the purpose of promoting the idea of alternative transportation, as well as drawing attention to the need for good health maintenance practices in Lee County.

It's 8:00 AM on a rainy July 4th morning and the bikers must go through a pre-ride inspection and registration.

Lena is ready to roll.

Everyone has completed the registration process as Show Time draws near.

It's almost 9:00 AM and time to suit-up, saddle-up and head for the starting line.

With the mist over the mountain and the rain starting to fall again, The Park-to-Park Bike Ride is about to get underway.
